Activating 3G in Vodafone is very simple.First insert the Vodafone SIM card in 3G enabled mobile phone.You have to send single SMS to activate the Vodafone 3G on your mobile number.
The procedure is ACT 3G to 111 (For Postpaid users) and 144 (For Prepaid users) .The process for activation of 3G will be completed in maximum 24 hours.
You will get confirmation message from Vodafone when 3G service is activated.
You have to change the Network mode into UMTS or HSDPA in-order to use the High Speed Vodafone 3G service.

I’m getting a message ‘Your request could not be processed either due to non eligibility or earlier request in process or processed.’ I hope my promotional offer got over. Yes Pradeep you are absolutely right.You have to activate the 3G service on your Vodafone SIM to enjoy the Vodafone 3G service.Try to follow the procedure given in this post to activate 3G.Make sure your SIM is in 3G enabled handset when you try to activate the 3G.
I have used idea and docomo 2g sims in my usb stick earlier in 3g mode (i.e wcdma)
and i didn’t need to activate 3g to use it.They showed 3g network by default.

It will be free if you activate rental Pack or else you will be charged for the data usage as per the Vodafone 3G pack.

No,Since 3g and 2g usage is separate from each-other.
Btw I m using docomo sim. In which I always recharge for 2G Data plan & uses it in 3G mode. It never caused any problem. I m getting much faster speed than in 2G at the same cost. You r saying that ’3g and 2g usage is separate from each-other’ …is der ny diff. between real 3G & 3G network which I m using?
